Sarah Brown

Whilst studying for her degree at Bath Academy of Art, Sarah became inspired by the strong links between the college and prominent post-war Cornish artists such as Peter Lanyon and William Scott, who both taught there.

The West Country is a region that Sarah knows intimately, and it is both primary inspiration and the main subject of her work. Using high quality soft pastels applied to fine glass board, she conjures the light, atmosphere and ambience of landscapes, from the Atlantic Cornish Coast to the moors of Devon and Somerset’s wetlands.

Sarah has exhibited widely, from South West Cornwall to southern France. She has also worked on a number of prestigious commissions, supplying paintings for organisations such as Spirax Sarco UK and the Haematology & Oncology Centre, Bristol.
